Art Therapy for Individuals

Meet with Catherine one on one for an Art Therapy session for 50 or 80 minutes. During our time together, I can guide you in art making, mindfulness exercises, yoga, and self-compassion practices that help lower stress and anxiety, relieve depression, manage physical pain, restore energy, and more. Together, we can use any combination of these tools or sometimes none of them. I can simply listen. Clinical Supervision
for Art Therapists

One of Catherine's biggest passions is working with and mentoring Art Therapists who are new to the field. It can be hard to start out in this profession, but you don't have to do

it alone. We need more people doing the great work that you're doing, and I'm here to support you as you get started.

Supervision doesn't have to stop when you receive your credentials either. Catherine also provides supervision for seasoned Art Therapists looking for new ways to practice.

*Contact Catherine  for information about

individual and group supervision.

What does it mean to be fully supported?

To be held even? More importantly, what does it feel like? Whether it’s work, or parenting, or caregiving, so often we take on roles in life aimed at supporting and holding others. Yet within this very natural human desire to do the best we can and care for those we love, it can be common to lose ourselves in the process. The fact is, we have to be able to fully connect with ourselves in a loving and compassionate way before we can continue to offer the same to others.

That’s exactly what this 4-class series aims to do — set aside time and space for you to explore simple and practical ways to reconnect with yourself and offer some much-needed compassion.

Each class will use art making, creativity, and meditation to learn about and practice different aspects of Mindful Self-Compassion.

Why Art Making?

Because the process of art making is inherently mindful. It keeps our attention in the here and now in a gentle and playful way. In addition, the process of art making is inherently kind. Connecting with this creative part of ourselves helps us express and honor what is arising within us as well as practice responding with care.

Why Mindful Self-Compassion?

Because sometimes we have to hold ourselves, before we can hold our experiences and before we can hold others. In practicing these creative avenues of mindful attention, we can learn simple and effective ways to find unconditional care, support, and even nourishment from within, equipping ourselves to be able to offer this same compassionate care and attention to others as well.

Wednesdays, September 4th, 11th, 18th, & 29th

2:00pm 3:30pm CST

$85 for 1 Session
$300 for All 4 Sessions

*No experience with art making, meditation, or Mindful Self-Compassion is necessary to participate.

From many areas of study, we know the importance for our health and wellbeing of intentionally spending time in positive states of mind and heart, such as ease, gratitude, and joy. Yet, it can be difficult to connect to these feelings when experiencing the personal and global challenges that we’ve faced in the last several years. The intention of this series is to provide simple and accessible ways to reconnect with these positive states through the  practices of gentle yoga, meditation, and art making.

*Each workshop is self contained and no prior experience with yoga, meditation, or art making is necessary.

*Art supplies will be provided ahead of time by BACC.

Are you thinking about starting a regular mindfulness practice?

Maybe you've heard about the benefits of meditation, and you've tried the apps and recordings. But you're finding it hard to sit still and truly connect to the practice. HeartSpace Wellness Studio Art & Mindfulness Workshops provide a space to practice and experience the benefits of mindful attention through different outlets other than formal meditation. Through these workshops, we explore how art making, movement, writing, and yoga can all be meditative activities that help promote ease within the moment as well as

health and well-being long-term.

*No experience with art making, mindful movement, meditation, or

journaling is necessary to participate.

**Bring your own art materials to use during this workshop. Prompts for art making can be adapted to whatever you have on hand.

It is natural as parents to want the best for our children. We want to create a loving, safe, and fun home environment. Yet sometimes, the best of intentions can feel impossible to obtain when our toddlers throw a mega tantrum or our

teenagers yell and slam the door yet again.

In our Mindful Self-Compassion Workshop for Parents, we aim to provide you

with ways you can effectively care for yourself, so you can better care for your children. In this 4-class series, we will explore how to do this by combining the practice of mindful self-compassion with different creative outlets, including art making, music, writing, and yoga. From participating in the series, not only will

you leave with specific tools for caring for yourself, but ways to be

more present and connected with your children as well.

Creating a loving, connected relationship with your children

starts with doing the same for yourself.
