Why HeartSpace?

Living with a medical illness whether acute or chronic can be exhausting, not to mention really scary. You may be feeling overwhelmed with new information yet too tired to make any decisions on what to do next. You may be experiencing physical pain regularly that leaves you feeling irritable and depressed and prevents you from enjoying the things in life that you used to. You may be feeling worried and anxious over what your future will look like and unsure of how to even begin moving forward. 

At the same time, caring for someone with an illness can be exhausting too, not to mention really hard. After years of working in healthcare or maybe even caring for your own loved one, you may be feeling overwhelmed by the continual and never ending to do list and feel you can never catch up. You may be feeling isolated from family and friends, having little time or energy left at the end of the day for connecting and socializing. You may even feel removed from yourself, having lost the motivation and satisfaction in the things that once ignited your sense of passion and purpose.

Meet Catherine

Hi, I'm Catherine, and I'm an Art Therapist. Since 2007, I have been helping my clients engage in their own art making, creativity, and discussion as a way to find ease among life’s many challenges. As an Art Therapist and a Registered Yoga Teacher, I can guide you in art making, mindfulness, and yoga practices to help you relieve stress, restore your energy, and discover ways to leave you feeling more like yourself again.


I understand the healing powers of creativity, mindfulness, and yoga not only from my work as an Art Therapist but because I have experienced the profound benefits myself for chronic pain, difficult life transitions, and compassion fatigue. Because of this experience, it is my mission to help you navigate this stressful time in your life and find the tools from within to leave you feeling calm, capable, and confident in whatever situation you may be facing.
